Roadmap to Success

You may be asking yourself, “What the hell is she doing thatis such a journey?” Well let me tell you folks. I am kicking my fats ass, haha.I am changing my life. I made a decision one day, about 3 weeks ago, that I wasno longer going to let overweight be my title. So here’s a rundown of my roadmap to this journey.

Example food log
Food/Calorie Tracking:
I am“writing down” EVERYTHING that I eat. I have an iPhone 4 and a handy dandy appcalled “MyNetDiary”. Sure it costs $4 BUT I believe it is absolutely worth it. This great app tracksfood and EVERY nutrient that is in your food, also water, supplements, weight, measurements, and before and after pictures. There are a lot of extras as wellas access to their website with a plethora of other things! Research shows thatpeople who track their food lose twice as much weight as those who don’t. SoLOG IT PEOPLE!

What I’m eating:
Breakfast& Lunch: I make an Herbalife shake for breakfast and lunch. I like theseshakes because they are easy to prepare, yummy, and it makes it easy to stickto the plan. Knowing exactly what you’re eating is easier to keep track ofcalories than an egg here, toast there, sandwich here, etc, etc, etc… I lovetheir Cookies n Cream and French Vanilla flavors. I add two scoops of theprotein powder to make sure I get the protein I need. I also add a banana toeach shake, sometimes other fruit. Sometimes I will add a tablespoon of peanutbutter for flavor, I looooove me some peanut butter! And banana, OH boy!

Dinner:This is not such a planned thing. Typically my dinners consist of baked chickenbreast because I love chicken. Sometimes there is a stray from that. Itypically try not to eat red meat and usually don’t unless it’s a ground beefin my sauce or chili. I however am starting to use ground turkey instead. I onoccasion cook fish, but because my parents don’t like many types it’s prettylimited to what I can and can’t cook in the fish department. So genericallydinner is chicken. As far as sides there’s ALWAYS a veggie, typically frozenbecause that’s just easier for us, but sometimes I will roast some veggies inthe oven which is amaaazing. I usually cook a starch because my parents enjoyit and I will usually eat ½ cup of whatever it is. I make sure I usually eat apretty big salad before so I tend to eat less of those. My salads consist ofbaby spring mix lettuce, 6 croutons, Vidalia sweet onion dressing, andsometimes avocado, or bell peppers, or onions.

Moving my ass:
Best shipment ever!
New program!
Ifyou’ve read my AboutMe you’ll know a little background about my activity past. So for a whilenow I’ve been pretty inactive, and my activity counting as walking to and fromclass and the car, shopping, and anything in normal daily life. Clearly thisisn’t going to cut it. Once I made this decision to change my life, not only mydiet had to change but my activity had to change. So far I’ve started by doingJust Dance on Wii for about an hour, sometimes longer because it’s just SO fun!And for those of you who don’t say this is a workout, well I am DRIPPING sweatat the end of it, and that and my diet have allowed me to lose 6 lbs in about 2weeks. I also purchased some dumbbells so I can do weight training. I do JustDance every day. I JUST received my shipment of Rockin Body by Team Beach Body(for information please see links to Jess’s blog, she is a Team Beach Bodycoach). This DVD set is a 4 week program to follow and I am starting it tomorrow12/6/12, with breaks in between for Just Dance of course!

Accountability:
Istarted this blog because I feel it will help keep me accountable as wellpossibly inspire one more person to live a healthier life. I also just thisweek joined a Weight Loss Challenge at a wellness facility here in OrangeCounty. It is 8 weeks long. You weigh in and measure every Monday. It’s $29 tojoin. How do they keep you accountable you ask? Well not only do they writedown all your #’s BUT if you gain a pound you put in $1, if you lose a poundyou get a raffle ticket for the raffle at the end, if you miss more than 1class you pay $5. All the $ paid in during the challenge goes into an inch pot,and whoever loses the most inches during the challenge WINS that $ at the end!!Also the 1st place winner of most weight lost wins about $500. Hello$500!! Count me in! J

So this is my plan and current program I’m following. Now tothe nitty gritty….
